Step 1

Cut your remaining nickels into 2.5” x 2.5” squares.

For Crib/Lap size, you will need 24 squares (6 nickels)

For Twin size, you will need 54 squares (14 nickels)

For Queen size you will need 72 squares (18 nickels)

Step 2

Randomly sew one square to both ends of a 2.5” x 8.5” strip of background fabric.

Nancy,
Can I use your nickel mystery at my LQS? We've been exchanging nickels for about 1 1/2 years, and would like something fun to do with them.

yes, you can use this mystery - - but warn your group that they need to be flexible - there has been some errors in the nickel counts, which is my mistake, trying to give three sizes, but only testing one size myself.

Nancy,
Sorry to be a pest, but what were the number of four patches that were needed in the beginning for crib and twin sizes? I was only paying attention to queen!

Thanks again!!!
