Monday, April 28, 2008 - Good Morning!

I've got a super swampy week ahead of me.  Tues, Wed, and Thurs are completely booked up.  So, today, I think I'll take it easy....putter around the house, finish up the laundry, and enjoy a little sewing.  Right now, I'm enjoying a coffee with a splash of caramel toffee cream in it - oooooh!  very yummy

Just wanted to share something NOT quilty, NOT about my boyz, NOT about the weird life that I lead....

I shop several times a week at Shopper's Drugmart.  With two growing teen boys, and my all time favourite meal being cold cereal, we go through at least 8L of milk each week.  There is no cheaper place to buy 2% milk than Shopper's Drugmart @ $3.97 for 4L.  It's not hard to rack up those Shopper's Optimum points.  I found out by chance that yesterday was bonus rewards day at Shopper's ~ that is, if I cashed in 75,000 points, I could get $200 in free product (usually, it's only $150).  Hubby, Itty Bitty and I went to our favourite of the three SDs in town and loaded two shopping carts.  Time to SPLURGE!!!

This is the fourth time we've been able to cash in for big rewards.  Last time, Hubby got an MP3 player and we loaded up on all the pharmacy staples: soap, shampoo, razors, deodorant, etc. etc.

This time, I was going to treat myself to some new cosmetics.  I'm sure you've seen the Queen Latifah commercial for Outlast Lipcolour that promises up to 16 hours of wear.  Okay - the only reason I noticed it is because everytime the commercial comes on there is a current of electicity in the air - - Hubby has serious hots for Queen Latifah.  But the 16 hour thing interested me.

So, I went to the Cover Girl display at the drugstore, and started testing shades on the back of my hand, finally choosing "Canyon".  Let me tell you, this stuff DOES NOT come off.  I washed with soap and water.  I scrubbed at the stripes with cotton soaked in eye makeup remover. Here's another review.  It's on sale at SD this week for $7.49 (about 25% off).

Major deal Nancy! I don't shop at SD, except for Christmas browsing, cause it's in the next town over. We have London Drugs here but no points cards from them. I might spend the gas bucks and go get some of that mascara though. I don't wear make-up, aside from the sheer stuff that evens out your skin tone, but lately I'm thinking my eyes could handle a touch again. One town over a woman wouldn't DARE go outside without make-up and designer clothes. I'm not a makeup and designer clothes type person. A friend of mine was putting on her mascara as they rolled her into the delivery room *LOL* Here it's jeans and natural, which is really easy.
