Sunday, April 13, 2008 - Clue #2 Life is a Stitch Mystery Quilt


Step One

 

Lightly draw a diagonal pencil line on the back of the light 2 1/4” squares.  Place right side of square on the right side of 8 ½” tan/light brown strip, matching outside edges.  Sew along penciled lines, then trim the outer triangles off and discard. Press open.

 

Complete 16 units for Crib/Lap size

Complete 40 units for Twin size

Complete 56 units for Queen size

 

 

Step Two

 

For each block you need two of the units you just sewed, two 5” x 2.25” white strips, and one nickel.

 

Sew one strip to opposite sides of the nickel.  Press open.

 

 

Step Four

 

Stitch one unit to either end.  Press open.

 

Complete 8 units for Crib/Lap size

Complete 20 units for Twin size

Complete 28 units for Queen size

I think you are doing this step now b/c I hadn't commited to my 'tan' fabric. WELL I buckeled down, made a choice AND have it all cut and ready to sew.- Hope to get a couple of the blocks together tonight after church. Sew far- sew good. be good cheryl
