Here is my DGD.....the dentist!!!

Here she is on the screened porch.....practicing being a dentist....

Her mom is a DA (dental assistant)....It has rained a RIVER this afternoon!

And how many times can we watch SNOW WHITE??? OH well who is counting!

Here it is the week-end again....

Where does time go!

Rain for the week-end....and it is WELCOME...

It has been dry in this part of TEXAS so the rain is welcome!

Makes for a great quilting atmosphere!

I am keeping 4 yr old DGD this week end so her parents can celebrate their

anniversary. So this will be a Barbie week-end! Hoping she will "let" me

quilt....I am getting behind again on machine quilting! I always find time to do the

customer quilts....but never get to mine!!!

DGD is very interested in learning to make a "wankie" Just not old enough yet!

"WE" made a pillow the last time she came.....she won't sew....but she will sure make

the fabric selection!! haha Hope she will sew when she is a bit older....

Outhouse Quilter

Well I added my Web Shots link.....in case anyone gets bored enough to

look at them....I have decided I will be adding my customer quilts there.

I have been busy this week.....LIFE gets in the way of a quilter's world that

is for sure!!!

Guess I won't get much quilting this week end...I am going to FtWorth to a

Women's Conference. I have a friend who is a memeber of EMIC (the church where

the conference will be held). Gloria Copeland will be the first speaker on Friday night. Then the "Copeland" girls will take over....I went last year and it was so

refreshing!

We finally got rain and it cooled off some here in this part of Texas.....THANK YOU JESUS!

Good nite! I better go pack my bags....I will spend the week-end with my friend

in Saginaw.....be back after church on Sunday!

I have not quilted this yet....but here is the Elvis quilt top that my friend

is giving to her mother for Mother's Day..... The back will be tie-dye fabric

a lot like the border.

I think these are so cute...

it has made me wish for one myself!!!!

LONG LIVE THE KING!

Well after MANY tries....I finally got this photo to be the right size!

I ended up resizing it before uploading....Someone tell me if there

is an easier way!!!

I am still not sure what I am doing!

Anyway this is a stitched wall hanging I thought I would share....

In case someone reading this is a stitcher......I have done lots similar to this

and given as gifts.....This one was actually a gift given to me. And hangs behind

my quilting frame with a few other wall hangings I have done.....I did several

small wall hangings as I was teaching myself to quilt....

Soon figured out I do not have the time or patience to hand quilt.....so I moved

on to machine quilting......and found my "nitch" there......I piece only the quick

quilts....I do love applique and have done several applique ones....

that I appliqued using the blanket stitch on my Viking machine.....

Today is my "special" day with my G-daughter who is 4.....so no sewing today!

Soon I will get her to start a quilt.....she is REALLY interested and loves fabric

and also loves her special "wankies"  I have made for her!

Well I lost my first try at this....so will try again.

I just found out about blogs the other day and I really

enjoyed reading them...so thought it was only fair to

at least let you know .

I have been quilting only a few years...around 4  I guess??

I have sewed since Jr hi....my mother encouraged me to sew in

4-H and also took sewing in school.....I have made garments since then.

Both for myself and others....

A few yrs ago a friend and I decided to learn to quilt.....

We were not warned about getting Quilt Pox....and before we knew what

happened we both had been infected! Now we find out it is not fatal, but that

we will have it until we die....and maybe beyond???

After sending out several quilts to a long arm quilter....we quickly decided we

may not can afford this so we came up with a bright IDEA! Buy a frame and machine together......and teach ourselves to quilt so we can do our own.

We both quickly learned to machine quilt. And soon our friends and acquaintences were bringing us quilts to do.....and PAYING us! WOW!

Well here we are a few yrs later....she has her own set up and I have mine.

I have a Hinterberg Stretch frame and a Voyager 17 machine and LOVE to quilt~

I will try to post a picture of it later.....I did that earlier and lost the blog!
