Cool Quilt Novel

Hey Everybody

I was going to go to bed early tonite and curl up with a book, but the boyfriend volunteered me to do some baking for his new boss and friends.  I do like baking, and I have to admit it gives me a warm fuzzy to find out he brags about my baking to his buddies.

I've got a blueberry pie in the oven, a lemon meringue waiting for its meringue, and a batch of chocolate chip cookies waiting for their turn in the oven.

So in the meantime, I thought I'd share this book I found at my local library.  I'm a mystery fan, but I really enjoyed this one.  I revolves around a psychic who does readings based on quilts.  I won't say any more in case someone wants to read it.

Hope everyone is warm and cozy tonite.

Yay!

It's great everything is back up and running!  Thank you Molly for keeping me posted on what was up.  I was really missing checking in on everyone.

I've finally finished the quilt top for the boyfriend and I don't have any place large enough in the house to lay it out flat.  And of course, as soon as I try to, Mel is right in the middle of it.

I'm going to try 2 new things with this one.  I'm going to use the fancy new machine and create my own quilting design and get the machine to quilt it.  And, I'm going to try basting spray.  I hadn't paid much attention to it, figured it was gimmicky and couldn't possibly work.  But then I had a nice chat at one of the lovely little quilt stores and they tell me it IS too good to be true, but YES, it does actually work.

Before I start, can anyone offer any advice?  I've been warned about overspray, and I think I'm going to have to assemble it in the driveway on a few sheets.

I'm waiting a phone call about a job interview.  Guy is in town for only today and has a bunch of other meetings, so he's supposed to call when he's free so we can meet at the airport.  I'm unemployed at the moment (probably shouldn't put the details online in public, but if anyone wants a soap opera, just email me), so I'm hoping something comes of this one.
