A Day of Rest But not from Quilting
|
Hi everyone!
Everyone is laying down for a nap, so I have some quite time to continue ripping out and sewing back together. I have been doing this for a week now and I think I will be doing it for another couple of weeks. It is a very slow process. I don't want to every do this mistake again. lol I have been working on it for the past hour and decided to take a break. I come corrected 6 and have 28 out of 52 more to do. At least I am just about half way thru. I only have about 3 hours to work on this today before evening church, but I think that I can possibily fit an hour in an evening this week and might be done by the weekend. Well, I guess I better get back to work. I will check in with everyone else tonight before I go to bed. I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

Just working away
|
Hi everyone!
I keep coming back to my blog everyday and to look at the photo I posted of the puff quilt I would love to get the kit for. I just love the colors and everything. I hope to be able to get the kit in the next couple of weeks.
Anyway, this week I have been working a couple of hours a night taking apart 52 4" squares that consist of 4 2" squares for a mystery quilt that I was working on with a quilt shop here in town. I sewed the block together at 3/8" seam by mistake instead of a 1/4" seam. It is taking my a WHOLE LOT longer to take them apart and sew them back together then it did to sew them in the first place. I am at least ALMOST half way thru. I don't get to work on it but maybe an hour here or two hours there. My Saturdays and Sunday afternoons are my better quilting days. This afternoon we are going to be gone on a trip till late tonight so, I am going to work for an hour this morning, then Sunday afternoon while my husband and daughter are taking naps and my son is out playing, I will have about 3 hours to work on them. Once I get them all fixed then I only have two more lessons to do and them to decide which of the two layout to choose from. I am almost done with my first quilt also. I just have to square it off and put the last boarder on it. I do not know how to do this, so I am waiting till next saturday when our church has a craft day. This is where you bring your craft and can work of it from 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon and fellowship with others. There is only me and another lady that got me into quilting that quilt. She is going to show me how to put the last boarder on, then I will be done with the top. My first quilt was a Block of the Month thru JoAnn's Fabric. It was one of the pre-cut Block of the Months, so all I had to do was learn out to pin and sew the block together. When I get it done, I will be taking it to another friend of mine and have her quilt it for me.
I am also going to be looking into the Good neighbor block and the Block Party on the Block Centeral fourm board and see what there are all about. Well, I only have an hour before I have to get ready for our trip this afternoon, so I better get busy and see how many of those block I can fix.
Until later......................

A new quilt I want to do
|

I just got my new "The Quilter Magazine" today and when I was looking thru it, I fell in love with this Heavenly Puffs quilt. I think I am going to order the kit and work on it when I have time. lol. It might take me a couple of years to finish it. But I just had to share with everyone.

Today was Halloween
|
Today was holloween!
There were some people at work that dressed up, but for the most part we all dress normal. After work I had to rush home, grab that camera and meet my husband at the church. He was already at the church with the kids finishing up the last touch on all the games and set up for tonight party . When I got there the kids still needed to get dressed and Alex's face paint put on. I got my 3 year old daughter Rebecca dress in her Dora costum and started putting on my 8 year old son's, Alex, face paint on for him to be an Army Guy! Got that taken care of and photo taken of both of them. I was planing on posting them on this blog, but have not found out how to do this yet. We did not leave the church until everyone was gone and we got home around 9. We got both kids in the tub and Rebecca in bed. Alex is playing his play station with his dad right now and will be going to bed really soon. I am just wiped out tonight. I did get to see the finished product of a little wall hanging from a friend of mine that took a class last Wed with me for a "Stain Glass Cross". Her's turned out really well. I am all done with mine except for putting the binding on. I do not know how to do this since I have never done this before. She is going to get with me in the next week or two and help show me how to do this and then mine will be done.
Untill I can find out how to put photo's with my blog I will give you the link to my webshot and you can take a look at the kids and my husband in their halloween costumes and some of the quilting items I am working on. You can also see some of the photo's of our trip to China to adopt Rebecca, but I still have 250 photo's to post up before I am done there. So here it is:

Anyway, that is all for tonight. I am tired and heading for a nice how shower, then off to bed. Looking forward to reading the other blogs that a getting started up.
Until next time..............

Hi everyone!
I am from Oklahoma as you can see. LOL I am also a new quilter as of Jan 2005. I started out with doing a BOM with JoAnn's Fabric. It was a new block kit every month that was all pre-cut pieces. So, all I had to do what piece it together. I am to the stage of putting the last boarder on. I don't know how to do the quilting part yet, so I have a friend that will do that for me. I am hoping to take a class sometime the beginning of next year and be able to quilt my next finished project. I am also trying to correct 52 squares, on a mystery quilt I did with a quilt shop here, where I sewed them at 3/8" instead of 1/4". Then I can finish the last two lessons and be done. I am also way behind on the BOM at Block Central for 2005. I did not start it until May and have only been able to do Janurary's block, but I have cut all the pieces to make Feb thru July.
Just to let you all know that I will be talking about my daily life beside just quilting stuff too. I think this was a neat idea. Well, until next time.
