Tuesday, July 1, 2008 - Texas Y'all

Yay, we are headed to Texas tomorrow to visit our daughter and grandson. Son in law is in the desert for a few months so we will miss him. We are both so ready to get away for a while. Not sure when we will be back. After Texas we are headed to Santa Fe NM, then from there to the Grand Canyon. Anyone know of any good quilt shops there or on the way there?

While away this is what I'll be working on. Cute little stitcheries. So far I only have 2 done and working on the third one now. C is for Cat.... Think I am doing each one in a different color thread. When I get them all done I'll make them into a quilt. Miss Texas hope you are ok, I haven't heard from you in awhile.. Hope all is well with you.

Yesterday I took my youngest daughter clothes shopping. She got a new job as a teller at Wells Fargo. She didn't really have any nice dress up clothes. So hubby and I offered to buy her new clothes for a new job. She really got a lot of nice stuff. We hit Marshalls first, she got several nice tops there and a pair of shoes. Then on to JC Penney where she got some nice slacks and a few other tops, another pair of shoes and a few other little things she needed. All in all it was a good day and she was thrilled about all she got. She starts on the 3rd for the training. I think she will do fine with it all. Congrats to Amy on her new adverture in the work world...

Still working on getting quilts out befor we leave for vacation on Tuesday. I am getting close. I only have to finishe the one on the machine now and then one more and I am done till after vacation. It's going to be nice to get away for 3 weeks.

Betty made this little dog quilt for her daughters dog. One of the little pups on there looks a lot like her dog... It's too cute.

Don't you just love that fabric with the red flowers on it? I do... This is an older Thimbleberry kit. I quilted a Daisy Chain on it.

This cute little western quilt belongs to a brand new quilt maker. This is her first quilt and she is already hooked, she has been bitten by the quilting bug.

Tuesday, June 24, 2008 - More quilts

I feel bad for this customer, she made and mailed a quilt just like this one.....it was lost in the mail and hasn't been found yet. She didn't get the insurance on it either.... So she made this one to replace it and delivered it to her friend. Isn't that just awful? She has a feeling it is on someone else's bed somewhere.. but who knows maybe it will show up someday....

Let's go to the circus. Don't you all just love going to the circus? This is a cute little panel made by Helen. The backing is just as cute as the front.

The Butterfly quilt was made by a lady that passed away 2 years ago and didn't get it finished for her granddaughter's birthday so her mom brought it to me to quilt and is giving it to her at her wedding. Isn't that special and I'm sure she will cherish it forever.

This quilt is made using the X block pattern. Sandy did good on it, don't you love those bright colors?

Monday, June 23, 2008 - A good weekend and customer quilts....

We had a good weekend but it went by to fast. Friday night our grandkids stayed the night and had them all day Saturday.  I tell you there is nothing better than being a Grandma. I love it when they get to spend the night, they don't get to very often so it is special for us. As always we were busy all day doing all kinds of fun stuff. Those two never slow down. We were both worn out at the end of the day when the kids were gone but can't wait to do it all over again.

Sunday I did get some quiting done. I'm getting all caught up so we can get ready for vacation. Headed to Texas to see the other grandbaby, then from there we aren't sure yet where we are going. I'm sure there will be a few quilt shop stops in there though. Anyone know of any good ones in Texas or AZ?

Here are a few customer quilts I did last week....not sure if you can see the quilting on this one or not but it is stars andm loops with red thread..

Hey Betty.... if you are reading this before I call you I guess you will see that your quilts are ready to be picked up. I love this one. The colors she used all go together so well. Love those muted colors. I used a Sage Green thread and quilted Fancy This panto on it.
