"Hearts and Kisses" Quilt

Completed: February 2008

This quilt is a 47 inch square wall-hanging made entirely of scraps and a yard of fabric border from my stash.  I quilted it with my walking foot on my machine in a cross-hatch pattern.

I am slowly adding more to my quilt blog here.

Before moving forward, I am going to add more to this entry and make a few that will catch everyone up to date in my little Quilty Corner of the World.  I started this quilt in January, which was a benchmark in my quilting life.  I joined an online Quilting Forum and started reading quilt blogs and began to feel more connected to the many, many quilters all over the world who are lovingly covering our world with soft, warm quilts. I am not much of a joiner. I do not belong to a local guild and in January I finally signed up for my first quilt class ever.  I have been a self-taught quilter.

The quilt above was made from a pattern I found through another quilt blog, The Jolly Jabber, from The Fat Quarter Shop: http://fatquartershop.blogspot.com/

When I am not visiting a LQS and buy online I often do so at this shop.  They have a wonderful selection of fabric, good sales, the service is excellent, the people are very friendly ... and the baby, Emma, is just adorable.

In late January when they posted a link to this blog, "Freda's Hive":

http://www.fredashive.blogspot.com/

where I found this lovely scrappy heart banner and knew I had to make one with my scraps:

The results are above.

Thanks to Freda for generously sharing her heart quilt pattern with me and others!
