Monday, March 20, 2006 - Spring?

Today is the first day of Spring.  Tonight they predict 3-4 inches of snow.  Did I say Spring? LOL  As those of you who have followed my quilt blog know, I love to paper piece.  Last year I made these curtains to be put up during Spring.  I took the robin pattern from the book "The Quilter's Home" "Spring" by Lois Fletcher.  The wild flower fabric reminds me of Texas "where my heart longs to be."  My DH's family lives in Texas and I miss them soooo much.  They are a beautiful and wonderful family.  We laugh alot when we are together.

I love Spring.  It is when everything just seems to wake up from a Winters sleep.  Happy Spring!  Enjoy the beauty it brings.

Saturday, March 18, 2006 - Sudoku quilt/block?

To most it probably looks like a scrappy quilt/block.  To the Sudoku masters (lol)  it has meaning:-).  It could be used as a preemie quilt since it is about 24X24, but I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool combinding 4 or 6 Sudoku solutions?  O Boy, O Boy.....what fun this could be.  I still want to make one using 9 different blocks to represent the numbers 1-9, but that will be later on down the road since I have a number of projects planned.  A quilt I need to do this year, for sure, is one with Michelle........read that Michelle? lol.  It has only been on the back burner for a year or two.  It is an orange peel Quiltsmart pattern.  I bought her one and sent it to her, when she was in Germany, saying we should do it together one day.  She now lives in the Washington D.C. area.....lol    Boy, time passes too quickly.
