Wednesday, April 25, 2007 - A mystery of Carol Doaks

Are we having fun yet????? NOT!!!!  I started working at Lowe's, as a cashier, the end of Feb. and have decided I'd much rather be quilting........lol.....I'm sure lot's of you share those feelings.  But........  I did manage to make Carol Doak's mystery that she posted in her internet group.  Boy, that group is growing fast.  Soon we will hit 2000 members and mark 1 year of it's exsistance come June.  She has posted lot's of freebies and getting ready to post one to "celebrate" one year or 2000 members, which ever comes first.  Hope you all are getting in more quilting than I am:-)  And, hey, where is lori and Michelle???  They haven't posted for a while.  Have a nice day!  Kathy aka Kela

That is gorgeous!!! I love the pattern and the fabrics. I am a stay at home mom, but I did work full time until a few years ago. I joked that my job interfered with my quilting, I'm sure that you feel the same way. It is a shame that we all don't get paid for quilting....

Great job on your mystery quilt. I too am a member of the Carol Doak yahoo group. I haven't gotten around to making the mystery quilt yet. I joined around the time when they when the last clue was revealed. I'm turning into a paper piecing junkie!

I am also a fairly new member of Carol's group - and am participating in Fat 8th Swap that is going on now. I am still working on my first of the 4 pieces of fabric - glad we have until the end of June to finish it! It is only the second paper-pieced block that I have done so am still definitely a Newbie at it, but I do like it. I did not try the Mystery Quilt since I have several other quilting projects underway, but am looking forward to the Mariners Compass one she is promising us.

Your quilt is stunning! I often think about doing a mystery quilt, but I worry about not having the time.

Hello Kathy,
This design resembles a negative/positive pattern that I use with art groups that always turns out looking Great; as is this the case with yours here!
