Sunday, July 2, 2006 - Ryan's quilt

Ryan is my grandson who lives in Maine.  He was here in 2004 and made the center of this quilt.  He was doing great until, I think he decided sewing wasn't for boys:-(.  He is here in Illinois for the summer, so I brought it out and decided to finish it.  Those are exotic birds.  WOO HOO!!!  It is done!  I hope it brings back good memories when he uses it.  It's a hot one here today.....98 degrees.....stay cool and have a safe and fun 4th of July.  Kela

My boys think sewing is "girly" too...what a bummer!! lol!! What's so funny about it is that my dad and grandfather own a drapery shop and have sewn most of their lives. Go figure...

Wow great quilt, I can't see the birds, umm wonder if I can double click on the picture, anyway he should be very happy with it, Tell the young man that there is some wonderful men quilters its not being a sissy, but lets face it a teenager isn't going to be caught sewing, that would be terrilbe :)

Great quilt , when ever my son says anything about sewing I bring out the shirt he made in high school .Mind you he only took the class because it was a easy credit and of course that's where all the girls were .LOL Your grandson will love the quilt even if he won't admit it .How nice that he will be there for the summer ,enjoy your time with him ,they grow so quickly

That turned out AWESOME Kathy! I love it! You both did an excellent job! Is that the "rail fence" pattern?! I love the color choices and everything! Remember what I told you on the phone about embroidering words into it......they'd go perfect on one of the lighter colored stripes! I think he'd appreciate it himself if for no other reason to do it! Michelle
