    Wednesday, June 4, 2008 - Goodness! I forgot I had this Blog!

I forgot I had this Blog, how terrible of me!  But I will remember from now on. I am still quilting and all sorts of fun things are going on right now.

My grandson, BJ plays baseball for 3 different teams and I am in the process of making Water Bottle Insulated Covers for the team to help them raise money for trips, parties, etc.  My ddil, Marilyn can sell ice to people in Iceland in the Winter so I've really been busy! lol But I enjoy doing things for my family.

I have several projects in progress right now but the main is a year theme block swap that will end around November, 2008. This has been fun! My theme is Teapots, Coffeepots, Cups and Saucers. We make the cut our 12 background blocks, do the first block ourselves and mail it each month to someone else.

We have themes such as mine and also Tigers, Calendar Blocks, Floral Teapots, Floral Hearts, Native American, Exotic Birds, etc.  It's really been fun. I'll post some of the blocks I have made!

Well, back to the sewing machine....

    Thursday, March 1, 2007 - Senior Moments

I have had so many "Senior Moments" that I shudder to think about them. For one thing, I forgot I had a blog!

What can I say about that? Nothing to say! I just forgot! Between illness, surgeries and tests there has been a lot on my mind.  I am so far behind on my sewing that I don't know which way is up! And why am I here posting this now when I need to get the Wallhaning for Linda O finished. It's supposed to be mailed by Mar 1st! Oh my that's today. Well, guess what Linda?

I will get off and get to it. I am sure by the end of next week you'll have it!

Later folks! I have shamed myself into getting back to business! Namely sewing! I just know as soon as I begin my dgs, Jeremy will be here. He's wanting me to make him a Vest, Cumberbund and Tie in Lime Green so he can match his sweetie at her Senior Prom! I hope that is a good ways off!  I told them no at first but now I feel guilty! Since I became addicted to quilting I don't like making garments anymore!  Oh, well!

    Later!

    Betty

    Thursday, May 11, 2006 - Trying Hard

I am trying real hard to navigate this Blog. I want to try to keep this up. I have tried many times to keep a diary but never kept it up. So here goes again. I am finally learning to add my friends but can't add someone I really want to be in my friend list. I will get Dorene's help or Kim's or anyone that can help me.

This morning I spent my time changing bed and washing clothes and vacuuming. Then I closed myself in my haven (sewing room) and finished one block for Block Central's Next Door Neighbor challenge. I have to take a photo to send to Elaine for posting. I have cut out the Block Party Surprise block for May and would like to finish it before I take photo's to post. I hope to have it finished by tomorrow!

Block Central has been the greatest avenue for me. I always loved doing anything sewing related and everyone gives such great encouragement. I am mostly a home body so sewing is my escape. My sewing room has not only a sewing machine, embroidery machine, serger, my ironing board set up permanently, but it also has my computer, televesion, Satellite Receiver, DVD player and VCR recorder...oh and a telephone. If it had a bath room I would be in here forever! Bathroom is next door but then I do need the kitchen....lol

Well, John(hubby) is waiting for his dinner and I hear the oven timer going off and John will be happy! We try to eat early when possible...so I will have time to ride my exercise bike about 30 minutes after eating.

    Monday, May 8, 2006 - New Grrr-eat Grandson

    Posted by BettyMaxine (70.173.40.176)
Well, it's been a while since I have posted here. Life has been happening...that new Great-Grandson arrived with few complications but all is well and he is right next door to me! His Nana will not be here much longer and I will be handy! I visit him everyday and when Mom tires out she calls me and of course, I go! lol She is so spoiled but I did it so I won't complain.

I also have a new Grand-son-in-law...my granddaughter, Danielle was married in a beautiful ceremony on April 15th....she is not Danielle Cotton. Her hubby is Larry. They are well matched...she bosses and he obeys! lol

Well, will close for now and will try to be more faithful to post.
I am involved in so many blocks swaps and exchanges and sew-alongs. I don't know which end is up....but I'll enjoy every hectic minute of it!

    Wednesday, May 10, 2006 - Wonderful Visit

On Friday, May 5th my brother, Jimmie and Sister-in-law Wanda came from Baytown, Texas for a visit. We had agreed to go to a 55 year class reunion with them. It was my brothers High School Reunion. They have a luncheon every couple of years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated in 1951 from Baker High School. They stayed with us Friday night and we drove to Baton Rouge the next morning. It is only a 2 hour trip so we arrived in plenty of time for a good visit. We have a wonderful seafood luncheon. I mean we were in Louisiana where the seafood just can't be beat...of course that is my opinion!  It was a rather long meeting but enjoyable. It was fun...one of the ladies asked me what grade I was in when they graduated....well I just kinda of looked at her and said I was only 5 years old then.  Well she said rather sharply that there was probably no Kindergarten then! I apologized for being so young and my sil and I had a good laugh!  I was one of those surprises after 3 boys! Jimmie was 13 years old. We have a brother older and one younger that he is!

After the luncheon was over we went to our cousins home to visit with our only living Aunt....Aunt Lois is 96 years old..while we were there we all enjoyed the Kentucky Derby.  Everyone always goes to my cousin's home to celebrate or just spend the weekend. They can't leave because of his Mom so there is always a gang there and it doesn't take much to get a party going.  We even had a second dessert of the day when our cousin's wife served Strawberry Shortcake! Yum....

Okay, I think I have done this blog justice today...I have vowed to enter things when I am at my son's home 3 times a week in the afternoon. So I'm done.....
