I drove to my volunteer job at the Christian School second hand shop in the morning yesterday. It was such a beautiful world! Every branch and twig had an inch of snow on it. After that I went to Hubby's Aunt's funeral. She was 90 and has been frail for so long. She's been longing to go home, and she's there for Christmas. It's hard to be sad about that. I also did some shopping. Everyone and their brother was on the roads and streets. It took forever to get anywhere, but I wasn't rushed for time. This morning it started snowing again. We're supposed to get another 6 - 10 inches before noon tomorrow. I feel badly for everyone who has to drive a distance right now, but since there's nothing I can do about it, I'm just enjoying. View out our bedroom window.

Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends. :o)
Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to be a SCROOGE!!!
Just copy and paste this entry into your blog.... :o)
Change all the answers so that they apply to you.
Tis the Season to be NICE!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mostly wrapping paper with lots of ribbon 2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial 3. When do you put up the tree? About the middle of Dec. 4. When do you take the tree down? Just after the New Year 5. Do you like eggnog? Yup 6. Favorite gift received as a child? There isn't one that stands out over the others-they are all good! 7. Hardest person to buy for? Men in general - except son Ryan who always likes getting a new pair of shoes. 8. Easiest person to buy for? Me! Oh wait. I'd have to say my daughters. I can come up with all kinds of things for them. 9. Nativity Scene? Yes. The greatest gift ever - born on Christmas. 10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail - I used to do a letter but now our lives are pretty boring with the kids gone. 11. Worst Christmas gift you ever receive ? It's a toss-up between a LARGE tin of chocolate pudding and an assortment of post-it notes.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? I don't think I have one.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? This year it was the spring - I found the wise men to daughter Renae's Precious Moments nativity set on sale. Usually early fall.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Let's see, I have this weight problem, and it didn't come from celery. I'd say anything sweet, but I make peanut brittle that I can't stop eating.
16. Lights on the tree? Colored 17. Favorite Christmas song? There is no one favorite. I love Carol of the Bells, Sleigh Ride, but also some newer ones. Michael Card's Joseph's song. 18.Travel at Christmas or stay at home? Stay home. 19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Probably not, but I could give it a good try. 20. Angel on the tree top or a star? A star 21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Eve, or whenever we can get all the kids together. 22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? The frantic pace everyone assumes! 23. What theme or color are you using? Multi- colored - mostly dark reds and greens. 24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? We often have turkey, but this year I might go with a ham. 25. What do you want for Christmas this year? I have very low expectations. I have problems coming up with things for my kids. I don't need clothes - how about a gift certificate to a quilt shop! Rhoda Last year's projects.

Like Patricia, we're getting lots and lots of snow. I think it's been snowing all week with the exception of Wed. Not heavy, just canstant. We have a storm warning through tomorrow night. Hubby travels about 45 minutes north every day now, and that trip can take a long time some days. It is a beautiful world outside, though. Very cold, too. I've been putting up Christmas decorations this week. It's taken me about all week, too, with two days that I was gone. I've also been going through my boxes and giving things to our school resale shop and to my daughter who works in a medium security facililty for troubled teens - boys. They can't have anything breakable, but she said their decorations are the pits. She was going to go out and get some things for the tree, but I put aside some things that are wooden or fabric that she might like to use. I'm just about done with the decorations in the house, but have to put the village accessories around. First I want to clean. It badly needs it. Rhoda
So glad we're back.
